Welcome to the new AQuRN site

Welcome to the new website of the Australasian Queer Research Network (AQuRN), a space for sharing ideas, discovering research and building connections across our diverse community of queer scholars, artists, thinkers and practitioners.

Queer research has never been confined to a single discipline, methodology or way of knowing. It moves between the academy and the everyday, across cultures and communities, questioning what we think we know and imagining what might be possible otherwise. AQuRN brings together people committed to the critical, creative and transformative possibilities of queer inquiry. We understand queer research not simply as the study of sexuality and gender, but as a way of challenging normative assumptions, unsettling established knowledge and opening space for different ways of living, thinking and relating.

AQuRN celebrates and fosters interdisciplinary exchange across institutions, disciplines and geographies. We host a biennial conference (Queer Contexts), regular seminars and other community events. Whether you're an established scholar, an emerging researcher or working beyond the academy, we invite you to explore the website, join our mailing list and become part of the conversation.
